I’m going to the filming of Bachelor in Paradise Reunion today. I’ve never seen the Bachelor so I have no clue what I’m in for.
(Note: I would like to make it clear that I’m not bragging about not watching The Bachelor. Bragging about not watching The Bachelor is the television equivalent of “sportsball” people.)
I shaved and put on a nice shirt in the hopes that a producer spots me on set and selects to be a contestant on The Bachelorette.
Stay tuned.
Part 1: Three Things That Piqued My Interest, Made Me Laugh, And/or Precipitated a Text to the Homies
Having a lot of fun reading Nick Adams tweets. As far as I can tell he’s this Australian grifter who’s leaned fully into MAGA Guy cosplay. My big question is who’s writing his tweets? Because he tweets all day, some of them are pretty niche, and if you take a step back they’re pretty hilarious:
Lol what.
Who’s writing these? Can we hang out? (Alpha Male)
Speaking of unfettered nationalism…
I watched the new German All Quiet on the Western Front film. Holy cow. It’s been a while since I read the book and I don’t think it’s a one for one adaptation, but it certainly captures the spirit of the thing. Really stunning anti-war movie. As a palate cleanser I re-watched Scooby Doo 2: Monster Unleashed and laughed a lot. What a funny writer James Gunn is.

Part 2: Three Things That Happened To Me, Or: Things I Did Unto The World
I realize now that this section of the blog is perhaps a little ambitious. Who was I to think I would have three interesting things to talk about between Monday and Thursday evening? What kind of hubris?
I bought a fruit called a mangosteen because the name is funny. Good? Sure. Worth $5.99? Eh.
I’m really grasping at straws here.
Became an uncle again. Hell yeah.

Part 3: On My Calendar This Weekend
Steelers have a bye week. I am in a state of malaise.
Saturday, 4pm: Penguins vs. Kraken: The Pens have lost 6 in a row for the first time since Sid was a rookie. As in 2005-2006. Again, malaise.
Saturday, 4:30pm: #5 Michigan Wolverines @ Rutgers: Kind of rude that the committee put us at 5 but whatever. It’s fun to say Piscataway. Piscataway. That’s all I got.
Daylight Savings: Google Cal loads this into my calendar so here it is.
Hello, darkness.
